"Have patience with all things, and, first of all with yourself." ~ Saint Francis de Sales
Do you know the joy of patience? Yes... joy! Patience is a calm knowing, and it is the power that fuels the manifestation of what you desire. When you are patient, you actually create what you want more quickly. Why? Because calm is where all the good stuff happens. Calm allows inspiration, creativity and new ideas to flow. Also, from calm comes confidence and the inspiration to act on the opportunities that present themselves. Calm is the required state of mind for creating whatever it is that you truly want. As you have patience, that attending calm also allows you to deepen your "belief" to "faith of a certainty." It is a knowing that what you want is not only possible, but it feels so real in your mind, and it feels so good when you think about it, that you know it is just a matter of time until you see it in your reality. So, patience is a very joyful state!
When the object of your impatience is on your mind, you are giving it more attention, so it doesn't feel good. And it is the "not feeling good" that is keeping you from having what you want. Remember, how you feel is what creates your reality. Your path to achieving whatever it is that you want is an emotional one. So, it's important to move from not feeling good to feeling better, good, and ultimately to feeling great.
This is always your goal... to feel great emotionally! When you feel authentically happy, joyful patience comes more easily.
So, when you are in the thick of it, what can you do to move out of it? Follow these 3 steps to get you back to patience.
1) You need to feel love for yourself. Put the focus back on your physical body and your heart. When we feel love for ourselves and acknowledge our goodness and brilliance we become calmer. So, as you acknowledge your less than joyful situation, the first thing you must do is take a full stop! Instead of continuing with the repeated story of those same thoughts, put your hand on your heart. This will take your focus to feeling, so you can think from your heart.
According to the Institute for Heart Math your heart is 5000 times more powerful electromagnetically than your brain. So use that power by recognizing and emphasizing to yourself through your focus on your heart that you are doing the best you can and that everything will be fine. Just be committed to letting it go from your heart, and your mind will follow. And most importantly, feel real love for yourself knowing that you are doing the best you can. Know that you are perfectly on your path, exactly as you are right now in this present moment. Tell yourself that everything will be fine.
2) Simply breathe deeply and bring your thoughts back to the present moment. Be grateful for the moment! Shift your focus to a feeling of gratitude for what you already have right now. In his studies on gratitude, Dr Robert Emmons of the University of California-Davis has proven that writing down 3 things that you are grateful for will release dopamine into your brain, making you feel better immediately. This is how you work your way toward feeling patience again.
3) Feel love for the object of your impatience no matter what it is, a person, a situation or a thing. How do you do that? In your mind, say, "I love you (name)." (I assure you that you will feel very good as you practice this technique often. ) If you need a little extra guidance to create that feeling, think about something that you like or is going well with the person/situation, even the smallest thing. Anything is a great start. It’s there, you just need to look for it. Focus on it. This gratitude takes you to a feeling of love, and you will feel better.
Now, go back to your situation with these good feelings and more patience. As you move forward, keep your goal in mind to create whatever it is that you want. As you are truly more kind to yourself, you will find that you feel happy, your calmness increases, your confidence builds, your positive outlook increases, and you will feel more patient. You can then take only inspired and focused action that comes from the calm knowing....all leading you directly to your success.
