Change Your Mind

"Nurture your minds with great thoughts. To believe in the heroic makes heroes." ~Benjamin Disraeli

Little Gems of Wisdom & Fun from Mary Lynn Ziemer

Research has proven that your brain filter goes in search of what you think, believe, and feel, and your mind creates it in your reality. So, create a new story to think and speak about that feels good to you, always. Find something to be grateful for in that moment, in the situation you are faced with. When you do this, you will feel better immediately and begin creating more of what you want.

Sometimes we think that things are happening to us because of our previous experiences. We think that those experiences have imprinted themselves on us and shaped us into who we are now.

However, the very best news I can share with you is that your past has absolutely nothing to do with your future. It is not about what has happened to you before, but what it is that you are feeling right now, at this very moment, that is most important for you to create the life you want. What you feel presently shapes your future. How you see your situation now, and how you feel about it, creates your life. Remember, NOW is the place from which you create your reality. As Albert Einstein says, “The present is the only time that exists.” So, it’s only logical that it’s the only time that matters as we look to create a life of joy!

No matter what it is, learn to stay focused on what you want the outcome to be now. Feel good, as you imagine your desired ending to whatever situation you’re faced with. Then, instead of getting hooked into the current reality that is presenting itself, you will see a different result. This takes strong focus on the picture that represents your new story and, minimally, it takes a great foundation of feeling love and gratitude consistently. You must feel lots of love and gratitude for what the blessing is now, and in advance, knowing that it is possible. This allows you to believe and ultimately know that it’s already done as you stay patient and consistent in your heart and mind!

So, let go of the past as it relates to your views, opinions, and perceptions about how people are, or situations that show up in your life that you would like to change. Change your mind. Create a new, very specific story that feels better. You are the author of your own book...so fill the pages with whatever you desire! Even if you have evidence of a past behavior in someone you don't like (or in yourself) ... it's time to move forward.

Instead, be committed to letting it go and bring more joyful thoughts of love and gratitude into the present moment. Think of things that make you feel good about that person or situation. Or, try to find humor in the circumstances or tell a joke. I know it may sound extreme, but have a good laugh at yourself if you can. Every situation can be changed with a little creativity!

Remember, you create more of what you want by feeling good. So, create your next experience by feeling lots of love. How? You need to treat ourselves and others, and everything else, in a completely new way. You need to feel love for yourself and others, far beyond what you have ever done before. You need to become the kindest and the most loving person to yourself, and you need to extend that same treatment to everyone and everything else.

Then, you will change your mind and your mindset to one of calm. And that’s where all the magic happens!

Have an absolutely magical day of love, gratitude and fun!
