Little Gems of Wisdom & Fun from Mary Lynn Ziemer
While the Holiday Season may not feel the same this year or some of our traditions may be altered, it can still be a wonderful time of year! In fact, many are embracing the holiday spirit more than ever this year. Amidst the fun, the planning, and the hustle and bustle that the holidays can bring, it’s especially important to be gentle with yourself and keep balance in your life. You create everything based on how you feel, so it’s crucial that you stay tuned in to your emotions throughout your day and make sure you feel really good. Here are a few tips to help you feel calm and joyful as you move into the holidays...
1. Choose Peace. Remember, as you make good choices for yourself, others will benefit from your calmness too. Always ask yourself these two questions when you’re faced with a decision:
If I do this, will it make me feel good and bring me peace?
Will this get me closer to my goal? (Is it a priority for me?)
If the answer is yes to both, you will know that you are making a wise decision for yourself.
Now, put the power of your mind to use by asking yourself what you want the perfect outcome to be and focus on it. Our mind does not know the difference between our reality and our imagination. So, visualize the picture of the perfect outcome that you would like to see. Now, stay persistent each time it comes to mind, while feeling lots of love for everyone and everything involved. As you do this, you will feel more peace and joy. And when you have that KNOWING with a certainty that it is yours, it WILL be!
2. Nurture Yourself. As you love yourself more with self-care, you are able to give with ease to others. You can stay in a place of authentic happiness by devoting time each day to your priorities. Even a small amount of time spent in meaningful ways will lift your mood and show you the way to feeling more joy as you complete your holiday “to do” list.
Try taking “quiet time”, such as meditating, in the morning when you first wake up. It sets a calm and peaceful tone for your day. You’ll also feel so much more empowered to create the results you want. The peacefulness that you’ll feel elevates your energy and allows your busy day to flow more smoothly by giving you clarity and focus.
3. Let go and have fun. Let go of thoughts and situations that feel less than joyful. Say to yourself, “I send love and light to any thought forms around me now. I know that everything is going to work out perfectly. Everything is going to be just fine.“ When you do this, you feel more peace and calm. Plus, you open supportive doors that will bring solutions and an outcome that exceeds your expectations. Trust and look for the blessings of the present moment. Be grateful for all the big and little things that bring you joy. Make gratitude a habit as you go through your day. When you feel truly grateful about whatever you are engaged with in the moment of the doing, you will feel better. There is always something there to have fun with. Try being more light-hearted and silly. Search for it with a smile on your face, and a wide open heart and you’ll see it.
Then, in that present moment, put your full focus on what you want with all of your heart and mind. Do it with the feeling of love in your heart and have fun as you visualize what that looks like. In the meantime, trust that the best will happen. Have patience, and love yourself for all that you are doing. Feel and send love to everyone and everything involved. Love is the power that allows us to create what we wish, so feel love as intensely and consistently as you can with that special snapshot of what you want in your mind.
Now, remain persistent in your efforts to feel the intensity of love. Persistence always pays off! So, stick with your promises by continuing these daily actions, having fun and feeling lots of love in the process. Commit to feeling joy for the long haul to get what you really want for yourself and others. Remember, "‘tis still the season to be jolly" if you allow it to be!
Have an absolutely magical week full of love, gratitude, and fun, fun, FUN!
