"True Happiness is found in simple seemingly unremarkable things." ~Eckhart Tolle
Wishing you the Happiest of Holidays!
Little Gems of Wisdom & Fun from Mary Lynn Ziemer
This holiday week may be different than any before. Even though it may feel different, we know that it’s still possible to find joy wherever we are and in whatever we are choosing to do. The holiday spirit is all around us, we just need to open our hearts to it and feel those beautiful sparks of joy. Today, do your best to simply be present one moment and one experience at a time.
In his book “Guardians of Being, Spiritual Teachings From Our Dogs and Cats”, Eckhart Tolle reminds us that our pets naturally know what it means to truly be present, to just be. Our animals are consumed with the joy of just being and we too can develop this gift of staying present with what’s in front of us. How can we do this? It takes focusing on living in the moment we are in more than ever before.
Happiness and joy originate in the present moment... from the inside, not out. Remember, you are always physically living 0nly in the present moment. It’s the only time that truly exists and the only time that matters. Everything else is either a memory or a speculation.
The only thing that truly matters is that you are filled with peace and love inside, right now. The more love you feel, the calmer you become, and the faster you create what you want as you pave your way to your next experience. Along this path, you will touch everyone, including you, in the most beautiful way… with joy!
So if you must leave the present moment, be sure to only relish those wonderful experiences and fondest of memories from your past, and project your future with images of lovely dreams of fun to come. Then always remember to come back to the present moment where you create your next experience, and then the next, and the next, and so on. That’s ultimately where our power lies.
Feeling lots of love now. Now is truly all there is.
This moment requires our undivided attention and focus if we are to evoke those good feelings required to create the life of our dreams.
So, embrace this moment. Savor it. Decide to consciously create your life... it is right in front of you!
How can you do this?
Think of your day as segments that you create as you go. Just as in our real life, we experience creating in the “one room” that we are in at a time. So, the trick is, stay in the room wherever you are, focusing on the activity of your choice in the most fun and loving way.
As I feel gratitude for the quiet that I have right now to write this blog, and my computer (that I’ve named Samantha ☺), which allows me to write and feel good while I’m sitting on this comfortable bed, I am making the most of this moment. I feel joyful as I type and I feel the warmth of the heater nearby. It warms my room as I watch the sun rise from my window. I’m grateful for the water I’m drinking and the quiet of this house in the early morning hours. I’m thankful for my family in the rooms nearby and my son’s sweet dog that easily brings us back to the present moment with smiles, and laughter. He reminds us to be where life is, right here and right now.
We create everything based on how we feel, so we must make the most of each experience. Let’s be sure each precious present moment is given the full attention that it deserves. Let’s be fully engaged and mindful of our thoughts, words, and actions in the only moment that matters... NOW!
The concept is simple. As you are living every moment, carry love and gratitude with you in each activity during your day. This is what it means to be truly present.
Have a warm heart for everyone, knowing all people are doing the best they can, including you. Be quick to offer a smile and you’ll feel good too. Then, stay in that smile...feeling and knowing the joy of your love and gratitude from deep within.
Send warm feelings and think kind thoughts about everything and everyone, all the time. Even during those activities that seem mundane, you will begin to feel more happiness and joy immediately when you are overflowing with love and kind thoughts.
As you practice staying in the moment, here is the key. Look around and feel that what you want is what you already have. You will feel love and gratitude for it, you will feel all the love that surrounds you and you will have more joy in that moment.
Then, watch the feelings of happiness create even more for you to be happy about going forward! As you consciously pave your way to your next moment with love, you will see more and more of what you truly want unfold effortlessly in front of your physical eyes. This is the magic that living in the present moment creates!
Wishing you a Happy Holiday and an absolutely magical week full of love, gratitude, and fun, fun, FUN!
